Acupuncture is the ancient therapy of inserting very fine needles into specific points on the body. It is generally very safe and can be an excellent alternative to medication or other interventions.

In BC physiotherapists who treat using acupuncture are educated and examined by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and have had their qualifications approved by the College of Physical Therapists of BC.

In the case of physiotherapists using acupuncture as a modality it is only used for the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries or issues, for example but not limited to: back pain, osteoarthritis, neck pain, joint pain, and headaches.

There is no surcharge for acupuncture, and as it administered by a physiotherapist it is still billed as physiotherapy, not Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture. If you are looking for TCM acupuncture please email or call for recommendations of excellent local practitioners.
